Equipped with his five senses, man explores the universe around him and calls the adventure Science. ~Edwin Powell Hubble, The Nature of Science, 1954
Biology is about studying life, and since you're alive, it's really about you. Hopefully you'll find this very interesting!
Seek to improve your learning by polishing each project (page) in your notebook, until you've earned at least two stamps on each!

So you want to dissect a frog after school on Monday...
You better learn how first!!!
Get this done, then we'll see you there! (Complete the frog dissection at adaptive curriculum)
Your login is puhsmt-####### (where #### = id#)

95 96 97 98 SHARKS!!!
Old school Biologists (pre-DNA sequencing) would look at the physical characteristics of organisms and use that to determine how closely related they were. So we'll practice that as it's still a good rule of thumb when out in the field.
(Look!!! teeth, stripes, fast, tail, must be a TIGER!!! RUN!!!!)
We call these things DICHOTOMOUS KEYS, and you'll use one for sharks, and make your own for fish.

91 92 93 94 Becoming Human
What does the fossil record tell us about the evolution of humans???
What do the relative measurements of different skulls tell us about the abilities of various primates?
Make sure to fill in your thoughts for the first three pages, and the last page we did together in class with the skulls (the measurements)....
If you have a second, check out this cool interactive TREE OF LIFE
