Biology is about studying life, and since you're alive, it's really about you. Hopefully you'll find this very interesting!
Seek to improve your learning by polishing each project (page) in your notebook, until you've earned at least two stamps on each!

Here's the handout

35 - Highlight the definition of a dihybrid cross
36, 37, 38 - Write in the daily quote

34 Some more vocab, and...

...make a nice table showing the expected genotypic and phenotypic ratios - no matter the gene, we can predict the inheritance patterns :-)  Be sure to include the 4 vocabulary words and update your Vocab Lists

33 Plastic Egg Genetics

Use the eggs to check your predictions - can you figure out what the probabilities of each genotype are given the parental genes?

Make sure to create your data tables to show the crosses, genotypes, and phenotypes, and the ratios.  Do at least 5 egg combos, all 12 are extra credit!  Don't forget to COLOR your Punnett Squares to show the genotypes!!!

19,20,21,22. Mendel's Laws of Inheritance

We considered - why do you look like your parents?  Why don't all brothers and sisters look alike?

And we also took some time to learn about how flowers engage in reproduction...to better understand how Gregor Mendel ran his experiments with pea plants (What did he try first?)

Why do you look the way you do?
We watched a video about how we've come to understand genetics as humans - we've been selecting traits for a long long time... (corn, dogs, horses, roses, etc.)
We learned about Gregor Mendel and his experiments, (and we learned about plant reproductive organs too!)
Can you explain why Mendel got the results he did?

For full credit, make sure to mark up the text on pp.19, 20, 21 and on p.22 write the crosses (Tall x Tall = Tall, etc.)  Also, define traits and genes.
